Duh-dun...duh-dun....
One thing I absolutely LOVE doing every year is watching 'Jaws' on the 4th of July. I also enjoy a bit of themed food; acceptable themes are: New England, Jaws/Shark, and July 4th. Sometimes I even have company, but lets face it - everyone is always "too busy". Unfortunately, this means I cannot play my Jaws boardgame since it requires at least 2 people. It is super fun. I usually end up playing as the shark when I play with my nephew.
Why?
"Martin, it's all psychological. You yell barracuda, everybody says, "Huh?What?" You yell shark, we've got a panic on our hands on the Fourth of July." - Mayor Vaughn, 'Jaws'
The film ‘Jaws’ takes place on Amity Island, Massachusetts over July 4th weekend. So we have sharks, New England, and you could always include July 4th things. The fun part of this is seeing how creative you can be with the menu. If you have people over, you can always pair it with hanging out at a lake or fishing or having a game night.
I wanted to get this out BEFORE July 4th so any readers can opt to plan out their own Jaws/July 4th night.
Here are a few themed foods that you can try. They are not entirely healthy:
Shark Attack Jello Cups (add a little red jam after it sets up for blood in the water)
I have a pinterest board with a variety of things just for this event. Jaws & July 4th Board
What am I planning?
I don’t know. The grilled shrimp ceasar salad on the pinterest board sounds really good. I might follow it up with a keto-friendly version of the shark attack cheesecake, also on the pinterest board. If I feel like coffee, I do have some k-cups of Bones Coffee's "shark attack", otherwise *shrugs* I'll probably just have water.
If I was going to plan a party around this, I'd be doing a surf and turf type of thing with a variety of different appetizers and desserts - all themed, of course.
Last year I has a lobster roll, a salad, and shark attack jello.
